How will my Páramo Duology Fleece outperform other mid-layers?

Many other mid-layers are designed simply to provide extra insulation when worn over a baselayer. Duology fleeces offer more versatility.

Nikwax Duology Fleece is lightweight, highly wind resistant and has a durable water repellent finish suitable for use in light showers, protecting against mist and drizzle.

Nikwax Duology Plus Fleece is a thick pile, directional fleece offering superior insulation and high levels of water repellency. It actively pushes liquid water outwards, keeping you dry even in poor weather conditions.

A Duology windproof cuts windchill, deflects rain and traps still air in the fibres of Duology fleeces to provide varying levels of insulation and waterproofing depending on the weather conditions and activity. The fleeces come in two weights to suit different requirements.

1. Designed to work in conjunction with the Enduro Windproof to give full waterproof performance.
2. Full zip with internal storm flap and chin guard at the top.
3. Three pockets positioned to be harness-friendly and all easily accessible when wearing the Windproof.:
• Two large handwarming pockets high on chest
• Small secure chest pocket for valuables.
4. Simple, adjustable hood that fits well under a helmet for extra warmth and comfort.
5. Precise cut with stretch plus excellent sleeve and shoulder articulation for a full movement range when climbing etc.
6. Simple, lightly elasticated which seal well but can easily be pushed up for cooling.

In what kind of weather conditions can I use an Enduro Fleece?

Used alone, the Enduro Fleece protects from mist and drizzle or can provide additional insulation when at rest.

In deteriorating weather, combine with an Enduro Windproof for additional protection. The breathability of the Fleece combined with the Windproof’s ventilation help to avoid overheating when working hard.

In extremely cold and/or prolonged wet weather, we recommend a Páramo Analogy® waterproof jacket rather than a Duology system.

Which garments should I use with my Duology Fleece to get optimum performance?

We recommend combining our Fleece garments with the relevant Duology Windproof for varying levels of insulation and waterproofing depending on the weather conditions and activity. The fleeces come in two weights to suit different requirements. Click here for more information.

Any Páramo baselayer worn underneath a Duology fleece will enhance the performance of the combination, keeping you dry and comfortable when working hard.

In extremely cold conditions our Torres overlayers are designed to be worn on top of your outer garments.

Working closely with Nikwax, we have developed a pioneering PFC-free treatment for our fleeces, waterproofs and windproofs. Recent studies show that PFC’s are persistent in the environment and are damaging to human health; which is why Nikwax waterproofing solutions are water-based, use no harmful solvents or propellant gases, contain no damaging PFC’s and are not tested on animals.

Páramo waterproof garments, maintained correctly with Nikwax, will outperform membrane and coating-based waterproof systems. The durable fabrics and high quality components used in our garments contribute to their longevity.

Under the terms of our Lifetime Guarantee, any manufacturing defect will be rectified, free of charge, for the life of the garment. Any damage by accident or normal ‘wear and tear’ can be repaired by our workshop at a reasonable cost.
