The Alize Windproof uses lightweight Nikwax® Windproof fabric with a TX.Direct water-repellent treatment for shower protection. It compacts into its own pocket and combines with the Alize Fleece for good weather protection in wet or cold weather.

The Alize Windproof packs down small into its own pocket, has a helmet-friendly hood and good ventilation options.

Nikwax^® Duology Windproof cuts windchill and protects your insulation but still provides excellent moisture vapour transfer

Nikwax Duology Windproof uses a closely woven microfibre fabric that cuts windchill and protects your insulation whilst providing excellent moisture vapour transfer. A Nikwax PFC-free durable water repellent treatment deflects the rain.

Worn in combination with one of our Duology fleeces it traps still air in the fleece fibres to provide varying levels of insulation and waterproof protection depending on the weather conditions and activity.

The Alize Windproof is made from lightweight Nikwax^® Windproof fabric with a PFC-free TX.Direct water-repellent treatment. It cuts strong winds and provides shower protection.

Combined with the Alize Fleece, it forms a directional clothing system to protect from heavier rain and cold, making it a very flexible option for use across the seasons. It packs into its own stuff pocket to fit easily in your pack.

An adjustable "halo" hood moves without impairing vision and can be secured when not in use. The scooped tail ensures lower back protection for all activities. Subtle reflective flashes provide visibility in low light.

So the Alize Windproof is a minimalist, lightweight, packable wind-resistant layer, versatile enough to wear year-round for a range of activities.

In what weather conditions can I use my Alize Windproof Jacket?

Used alone, the windproof, water-repellent fabric of the Alize Windproof provides ideal protection against wind and light showers. Its breathability and ventilation help prevent overheating.

In colder, wetter or more changeable conditions the Alize Windproof can be combined with the Alize Fleece to give good waterproof and insulating performance , making this a very versatile and useful three-season windproof.

Which garments should I use with my Duology Windproof for optimum performance?

We recommend combining our Windproof garments with the relevant Duology Fleece for varying levels of insulation and waterproofing depending on the weather conditions and activity. The fleeces come in two weights to suit different requirements. Click here for more information.

A Grid baselayer worn underneath a windproof is an excellent combination in warmer conditions when less insulation is required.

In extremely cold conditions our Torres overlayers are designed to be worn on top of your windproof.

Recent studies show that PFC’s are persistent in the environment and are damaging to human health; which is why Nikwax waterproofing solutions are water-based, use no harmful solvents or propellant gases, contain no damaging PFC’s and are not tested on animals.
